On September 26, there was sad news because Ndasaki passed away from a prolonged illness. The gorilla didn’t die alone because she was in the arms of her friend loving Andrea.

“It was a privilege to support and care for such a loving creature, especially knowing the trauma Ndakasi suffered at a very young age. It was Ndakasi’s sweet nature and intelligence that helped me to understand the connection between humans and Great Apes and why we should do everything in our power to protect them. I am proud to have called Ndakasi my friend. I loved her like a child and her cheerful personality brought a smile to my face every time I interacted with her.” Andrea said

They will always remember Ndakasi with the selfie that made her famous, it also helps to spread love and positive message about the other gorillas and their loving caretakers.

Rest in paradise adorable Ndakasi, you will be always in everyone’s heart, especially to those people who love you so much.
